VCO Foundation is involved in strategic planning and implementation of strategies to leverage our unique cultural assets for the economic and cultural benefit of the community.
We are at the forefront of enabling cultural activities towards a culturally rich and vibrant community.
We host programmes and competitions to actualize this cause.
- VCO MBEM AND OJA VOICE MELODY COMPETITION.
Mbem and Oja are traditional eulogy and folklore brands of music used in extolling the virtues of accomplished people.
As a way of empowering talented youths of Anambra, the Foundation is called on youths who have the skills to showcase culture and society with voice and melody.
The competition was open to all Ogene groups in Nigeria, and the objective was to compose and perform a the-minute Ogene song in the Igbo language. The song was supposed to contain lyrics and messaging which educate people on COVID-19; how to stay safe and prevent the spread of coronavirus.
- OGENE MESSAGE COMPETITION
VCO Foundation introduced a novel dimension in coronavirus interventions with the launch of the COVID-19 Ogene Message Competition.
The competition is one more step in the foundation’s Street Awareness Campaign aimed at providing education that will check the spread of the virus. The initiative is designed to celebrate the distinctly Igbo culture while awakening the spirit of creativity and competitiveness in the youth.
